If you need to
use frozen shrimp in a hurry, and especially if you need them
to be cold for whatever shrimp dish you are making, it can
be a pain to wait for the shrimp to thaw. However, there are
a couple ways to quickly thaw frozen shrimp safely, while
keeping it cold.
If you have a salad
spinner, place the shrimp in the basket and fill with cold
water. If you do not have a salad spinner, you can also thaw
shrimp in a colander sitting in a bowl of water, so that the
shrimp are covered with water.
You only need about
4-5 minutes to fully thaw the shrimp, and your chilled shrimp
are ready to serve!
