Sharpening sink garbage disposal's blades

If you are fortunate enough to have your kitchen stocked with its own garbage disposal in the sink, chances are you have discovered that the blades dull over time, and it isn't exactly easy to sharpen them. When you are doing a lot of cooking, and using your garbage disposal instead of the regular garbage (which saves you a lot of money), dull disposal blades means that you cannot put all the excess food into the garbage disposal that you otherwise would.

To sharpen the blades, it is much easier to do than you would believe. Simply run a handful of ice cubes through the garbage disposal. The ice sharpens the blades as it turns.
