Make your own fruit & vegetable wash

You can easily make your own fruit & vegetable wash for cleaning produce if you don't want to purchase a commercially available veggie wash.

For hard skinned fruits and vegetables, such as apples or peppers:

Fill a clean spray bottle with equal parts of water and vinegar. Spray on fruits and vegetables, let sit for a minute, then rinse well. You may want to rub it in if the surface is a bit textured.

For softer fruits and vegetables, such as lettuce or berries:

Fill your sink or large bowl with equal parts of water and white vinegar. Submerge fruits and vegetables, swishing around as needed and allowing to soak for 1-2 minutes. Drain and rinse.
