Make your own Cool Whip recipe

1 teaspoon gelatin
2 teaspoons cold water
3 tablespoons boiling water
1/2 cup ice water
1/2 cup nonfat powdered milk
3 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons vegetable oil

Pop a mixing bowl in your freezer for about 10 minutes before starting. In another bowl, add 2 tsp cold water and gelatin, stirring well. Add 3 tbsp boiling water and keep stirring until all the gelatin is disolved, this should take about 5 minutes. Cool until slightly warmer than room temperature. In chilled bowl, add ice water and the powdered milk. Using a beater, beat on high until the milk begins to form peaks in the bowl, then add sugar. Continue beating, then add vegetable oil and the gelatin mixture. Freeze for 15-20 minutes, then store in refrigerator. Give a quick stir before using on deserts.

Yield: About 2 cups
