When trying to decide how much whipping cream you need, it can be hard to figure out just how much whipping cream one of the half pint containers or the pint containers of heavy cream actually makes. For those using metric, the half pint is 236-250 ml containers while the pint size is 475-500 ml containers.
The half pint container of heavy whipping cream, the small one that is about one cup, will make 2 cups of whipping cream once it has been whipped. If you use one of the larger pint containers as whipping cream it will make 4 cups of whipping cream.
For those on the metric system, the container of heavy cream that is 250 ml in size will make 2 cups of whipping cream while the 500 ml container of heavy cream will make 4 cups of whipped cream.
If you discover that you have made far too much whipping cream, because you didn’t realize how much each container of heavy cream makes, you can also freeze your whipping cream to use it for desserts later.
