Now, if your oven is clean but still smells, there are a couple of things to do. First, pour a box of baking soda into an oven safe dish and close the oven door, leaving the baking soda for a day (or longer, if possible).
A second method is to pour 2 cups of water into an oven safe dish and add 6 drops of vanilla essential oil. Then turn your oven on to heat the mixture, being careful not to let the water completely evaporate!
Do know that if something was left in the oven and it rotted, the smell could have permeated into the insulation, similar to what happens to a refrigerator or freezer if the power is turned off for a significant amount of time. In this case, if the smell is bad enough, you will need to replace the oven.
