If you do not have a special sharpener tool for sharpening scissors or knives, but you don’t want to spend the money to have them specially sharpened (and let’s face it, do you really want to spend $10 or $15 to sharpen a pair of $5 scissors? But instead of tossing a dull pair of scissors, try this trick to sharpen them easily at home.
Take a piece of tin foil, and fold it 4-5 times in a square. Then, starting at one edge of the tin foil square, cut through the tin foil multiple times until the tin foil is all cut up… and by this time, your scissors will be nice and sharp once again!
Yes, you can use tin foil that you have used for something else first, recycling is always a great idea! Just make sure there isn’t anything sticky on the surface of the tin foil before you use it, as it could gum up the scissors as you are trying to sharpen them.
