Did your kids leave some caps off of the felt pens after drawing? Or did you discover some Sharpies at the back of the junk drawer that have seen better days? Stop throwing out those dried out felt pens and markers right now! Instead you can bring them back to live – and it is so easy you wish you knew it years ago.
Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol into a small dish – a clean bottle cap works perfect – and dip the tips of the felts and markers into the rubbing alcohol to let the nubs soak up a bit of the alcohol, and presto, working markers and felt pens once again.
Don’t dip the felts and markets directly into the bottle of rubbing alcohol, as you don’t want to contaminate it.
Be sure to pass this tip along to your child’s teachers, they have been facing this problem for years too!
