When you are cutting meat, such as chicken or beef, on your cutting board, you want to make sure you clean and disinfect it well, so you don’t cause any cross contamination and inadvertantly make family members sick. Most people like to pop their cutting boards in the dishwasher, but if you have only one cutting board but need to cut both meats and non-meat ingredients on it, you will need to hand wash and disinfect it immediately.
Rinse your cutting board. Then using a sponge, apply white vinegar to the cutting board. Let sit for a few minutes, then wash with hot, soapy water. Then rinse and dry, and it is ready for the next go!
