Many people tend to throw out their plastic shower curtain liner and replace it once it gets kind of scummy. But it’s actually very easy for you to clean the liner, so you don’t need to waste any money on a new one.
Are you ready for just how simple this is? Remove the plastic shower curtain liner from the shower rod, and place it into your washing machine along with a couple of old towels. You want to run the washing machine, but you don’t want to add any detergent to it, simply add about 3/4 of a cup of bleach into your washing machine with the liner and old towels. Use the hot water cycle on your washing machine, and use a hot water soak cycle if your machine has one.
The towels in the washing machine will help scrub your liner, so it is important to include those towels in the washing machine. Once the cycle is done, then simply hang it back up on your shower rod to dry.
If there is still any mildew on your shower liner after you run it through the washing machine, combine a little bit of baking soda with water until it forms a paste and then scrub the area with a paste and a soft cloth to remove any mold or mildew. Rinse it with warm water, and then hang to dry
