How to Disinfect Kitchen Sponges

It can become costly to constantly toss out kitchen sponges and buy new ones. Fortunately, it is quite easy to simply disinfect them so they aren't germy anymore.

To disinfect kitchen sponges, mix a bucket of hot water with baking soda and antibacterial dish soap. Allow to soak for 15 minutes, remove, wring and dry.

You can also use bleach to disinfect, but keep in mind this will break down the sponge eventually, so if you like to disinfect your sponge regularly, this option may not be the best choice.
