Bathroom vents
are great for ensuring the excess moisture is whisked out
of the room rather than staying in the bathroom to form mold.
But most people don't even think about the fact that bathroom
fan vents do need to be cleaned too, as they can become breeding
grounds for all kinds of nasties, not to mention a build up
of dust.
You should definitely
regularly clean bathroom vents so mold and dust buildup doesn't
force more mold and dust throughout the house. You can easily
clean the vent with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol or bathroom
cleaner. This will also help the ventilation since the air
will be able to flow much easier.
If your fan has
a removable cover, you can remove the cover and wash it thoroughly
with antibacterial soap and hot water. Be sure to allow it
to dry before reinstalling it back into the bathroom.
