Dollar Tree now accepts coupons!!

Wednesday, September 19, 2012 8:51 Comments Off on Dollar Tree now accepts coupons!!

Dollar Tree is now accepting coupons!  The switch over happened a couple of weeks ago, but many people do not realize it yet!  They do have some coupon policies, so here they are:

IN-STORE COUPON ACCEPTANCE: GUIDELINES & LIMITATIONS

  1. Only original and intact manufacturers’ coupons will be accepted. Retailer-specific coupons will not be accepted.
  2. Coupons are void if copied, scanned, or if they have been altered in any way.
  3. Only two (2) print-at-home Internet coupons may be redeemed per transaction.
  4. We are unable to accept coupons for “Free” items with no purchase requirements or where the amount for the product is blank.
  5. Coupons can only be used in stores and must be presented at time of purchase. Coupons cannot be redeemed for cash at a later time.
  6. Coupons will not be accepted without the purchase of the item specified and are subject to the terms listed (e.g. expiration date, size, limitations, quantity, etc.).
  7. Coupons cannot be redeemed for more than the purchase price of the item.
  8. Only one (1) manufacturer’s coupon will be accepted per item.
  9. Management has the right to refuse any coupon or otherwise limit quantities.

Probably the biggest ones are only 2 printable coupons per transaction, only one coupon per item (so no stacking) and no “Free item” coupons.

Make sure you check sizes on the coupons – apparently Dollar Tree is being pretty strict about product sizes listed on the coupons versus the product size they sell, because sometimes Dollar Tree gets oddball size coupons.

Target updates their coupon stacking policy for buy one get one free

Friday, June 24, 2011 0:07 Comments Off on Target updates their coupon stacking policy for buy one get one free

If you are one of those who loves stacking coupons (using one manufacturer coupon with a store coupon) Target – which is probably the most popular store couponers do this at – is changing their policy. People would use two different buy one get one free product coupons to get both products free.

BOGO coupons cannot be combined (i.e. you cannot use two BOGO coupons on two items and get both for free). Unless stated otherwise on the coupon, the use of one Buy One Get One Free coupon requires that two of the valid items are presented at checkout of which one item will be charged to the guest and the 2nd item will be discounted by its full retail price.
A second cents-off coupon of the same type cannot be redeemed towards the purchase price of the first item.
* If a Target BOGO coupon is used, one additional manufacturer coupon maybe used on the first item.
* If a Manufacturer BOGO coupon is used, one additional Target coupon may be used on the first item.

Click here for Target’s new coupon policy.

Want to learn more about how to stack coupons? Read our article Can you combine manufacturer coupons with store coupons? in our couponing section.

Extreme Couponing… how much of this stuff ends up at food banks?

Saturday, April 16, 2011 6:29 1 Comment

So I have seen the first few episodes of Extreme Couponing.  Never mind the sheer time commitment required (8 hours of clipping coupons a week?  EEK!) but have you noticed these people are showing off their wall of toothpaste or the 63 bottles of mustard they are buying, but we always see people showing off their storage spaces for their coupon haul.  But other than a few vague references to donating to food banks – and one guy, Nathan, who had a bit focused on a charity helping troop’s families, we never actually see any of this food being donated.  But we definitely see people proudly showing off their cases of toothpaste or the woman who bought out all the mustard, I don’t think even a mustard-loving family could use all that in the next 5 years!

Not only that, stuff expires.  Cereal has a shelf life of 1-2 years.  Now, maybe this guy is going to eat those 700 boxes of cereal before it is dated, but I’d be shocked.  Same goes with a ton of other items I saw in what people had in their garages – deodorant, soup, mayo, sauces, etc.

Now, I really hope a lot of this excess food does end up at food banks… and maybe there have been other interviews where they say this, but I wish TLC would focus more on this aspect of it and maybe convince some people to use coupons for free goods they get for the sole purpose of donating to charity, or even focus on episode on those who do it mainly for charity.

New Extreme Couponing show on TLC

Friday, March 11, 2011 18:23 1 Comment

You have to give TLC credit for coming up with reality shows that we can’t help but watch, and they probably will have another winner with their new one, Extreme Couponing.  I imagine it will be one of those spend 33 cents on $1000 worth of groceries, the ones you need to commit full time hours to in order to pull it off, or taking over an hour just at the cash register.  But to each their own.

They did a special couponing show late last year, so I am guessing a ton of us must have been watching in awe.  But I am kind of wondering how many of these people could also be featured on Hoarders…. because don’t we all need to have 150 jars of jumbo sized peanut butter taking up space in our garages?

Brand new coupons section on MomsBudget

Monday, December 22, 2008 6:03 Comments Off on Brand new coupons section on MomsBudget

The coupon stash we post has quickly become one of the more popular spots on MomsBudget, and we were quickly getting stashes that were 300-400+ coupons with both US and Canada coupons.  So we have decided to place all those fabulous coupons in their own section, which also includes a search function so you can search for specific coupons, as well as browse coupons based on categories (so you can browse just the breakfast product coupons, or even the breakfast product coupons for Canada).

We have a bunch of coupons expiring 12/31/08, so while we normally only allow one coupon for each type, we are lifting the limits on these, great if you plan to grab groceries before ringing in the new year.  Our next mail date for coupons is Dec 22, so plenty of time to get them to you before they expire.

We only have about 1/8 to 1/4 of all our coupons online so far (400+ are entered so far), so watch daily (even hourly!) for all the new coupons being added, we have hundreds here waiting to be entered, which we hope to have done in the next few days.  But in the meantime, order away :)

If you are new to our coupon stashes, think of it as a coupon train but with less work… you pick out coupons and we mail them to you, and we ask that you mail back at least the same value in coupons (at least one month prior to the expiration date), so that we can post them and others can get them.  We also ask that you recommend it to others, since the more people that use it, the larger number and variety of coupons we will have available.  Please remember that if you have received coupons from us previously, you must have sent coupons back before you can place your next order :)

Go to the MomsBudget coupons here.

There may still be some kinks to work out, so if you notice anything wonky, please make a note of it in your order comments.  We are still working on adding all the product photos as well as adding all the companies.  So still a WIP we hope will be completed over the next few days :)

So happy couponing!  And watch for some freebies being included to some of the lucky customers along with the fabulous coupons.
